The Opportunity…

• Help implement outreach strategy to increase the number of low-income clients served in regional counties
• Help promote community awareness of GRID Alternatives’ work and mission by researching, attending and potentially speaking at community meetings and other events
• Participate in activities associated with GRID Alternatives
• Other job duties as assigned: may include office administrative work, data entry, file management, answering homeowner and volunteer questions, talking to media and generally participating in activities necessary to make solar happen for low-income families
• Assist Outreach department to meet/exceed annual goals, including development and fundraising activities
• Supporting the Outreach team with mailers and marketing
• Marketing, social media and graphic design

What you need to bring to this role…?

• 3 months commitment. 30-40 hours a week
• Interest in and enthusiasm for renewable energy, community development, green jobs and/or helping families and communities in need
• Flexibility and willingness to embrace change, go the extra mile, and bring ideas and energy to a rapidly evolving organization
• Strong computer skills
• Must have reliable transportation
• Live in the Inland Empire area in California

It would be great if you also had…

• Previous volunteer experience or Outreach experience with GRID Alternatives

Where you will sit & the places you may go...

This is hybrid office-remote position. Our office and warehouse are in Riverside, CA. Requires work in the office and throughout the IE communities. Early mornings, some late evenings, and some weekends as well as travel for meetings, events, and job sites throughout the Inland Empire may also be required. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation and current good driving record.

Work Schedule:

Interns are expected to work 30-40 hours a week for 3 months. Some evening and weekend work is required.
