What’s the role?


Support the Senior Drilling Supervisor during drilling operations, and independently supervise distinct elements of some drilling activities.

Responsibilities:

  • The Well Site Drilling Engineer is responsible for supporting the Senior Drilling Supervisor by preparing detailed procedures for the drilling and completion operations.

  • He/she is responsible for supporting the implementation of all the company's policies, procedures and guidelines on drilling operations, safety and environmental protection.

  • He/she prepares detailed casing tallies, detailed casing and cementing programs, follows up and supervises cement operations, interacts and supervises mud operations and other third party contractors onboard.

  • Performs checks and verifications on third party contractor equipment, the HSSE elements of that equipment to achieve the highest value requirements in accordance with the well programme.

  • Responsible for accurate preparation and timely submittal of reports.

  • Works closely with the onsite geologist to ensure that geological input is considered in the operational plans.

  • Attends DWOP's, after action reviews and challenge sessions.

  • Monitors performance and drives performance improvement initiatives on the rig.

Main challenges for this position are:

  • Ensure that the level of HSE management is at an acceptable level from the start of operations will be a major challenge.

  • Role is primarily based offshore. Thus, ability to work offshore rotation cycle for 3 years within the first 5 years is mandatory.

  • Commitment to complete the Shell Wells Development program. Completion of Round 1 & 2 study (in addition to office / site work) and exams is mandatory for development as a Well Engineer. 

What we need from You

  • Graduate Engineer with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • Minimum three year experience after graduation or equivalent.

  • Creative and enthusiastic with a strong team spirit, who thrives under tough circumstances.

  • Ability of working and managing in a multi-cultural environment.

  • This position is a local position.
