What’s the role
Shell Canada Integrated Gas seeking a Terminal Operator to join their team in the Montreal – Terminal.
Accountabilities:
Oversee daily operations of the terminal
Demonstrate capability to focus on the adoption of safe operating procedures
Perform daily inspection and routine maintenance in accordance with the terminal operating standards
Develop, update, and adhere to Local Operating Procedures and Checklists.
Participate and support optimization of schedule for product movements from ships (, rail, pipeline and truck
Recognize and manage environmental and hazardous materials transportation risks in compliance to regulations
Use and diagnose issues with automated product movement control and inventory management systems
Communicate and collaborate with internal support groups and government agencies
Perform daily reconciliation of inventories of products and record data using distribution management systems
Supervise drivers loading and offloading hydrocarbons and additives products
Supervise contractors and maintenance services through Permit to Work with effective communications and safety leadership
Supervise connection/disconnection of marine hoses and mooring/unmooring activities
Perform rail loading/offloading including connection/disconnection, opening/closing of railcars
Ascend and descend large bulk storage tanks to complete sampling, level checking, gas testing, and general inspections of the tanks
Demonstrate capability and interest to use IT systems (desktop, tablet, smart phone) to input various data and information (eg shift logs, shift rounds, work orders), including basic troubleshooting of the systems during use
Understand and monitor product quality parameters against criteria and liaise with internal and external resources to ensure trouble-free operations and maximize the reliability of the terminal
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
College degree or Attestation of Collegial Studies in Chemical Process Engineering, Mechanical, Civil or any other related field
At least 5 years relevant experience is preferred
Must be able to communicate effectively in both French and English
Proficient in computer skills, including the use of basic Microsoft Office applications
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including rotating shifts and 12-hour schedules, as well as overtime
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces
Ability to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level

Quel est le rôle?
La division Gaz intégré de Shell Canada est à la recherche d’un opérateur de terminal ou d’une opératrice de terminal qui se joindra à son équipe du terminal de Montréal.
Responsabilités :
Superviser les opérations quotidiennes du terminal
Démontrer la capacité à prioriser l’adoption de procédures opérationnelles sécuritaires
Effectuer des inspections quotidiennes et des travaux d’entretien de routine, conformément aux normes d’exploitation du terminal
Élaborer, mettre à jour et respecter les procédures opérationnelles locales et les listes de vérification
Participer et contribuer à l’optimisation du calendrier des mouvements de produit à partir des navires (wagons, pipelines et camions)
Savoir reconnaître les risques liés à l’environnement et au transport de matières dangereuses et les gérer conformément à la réglementation
Utiliser les systèmes automatisés de contrôle des mouvements de produit et de gestion de l’inventaire et en diagnostiquer les problèmes
Communiquer et collaborer avec les groupes de soutien internes et les agences gouvernementales
Effectuer le rapprochement quotidien des stocks de produits et enregistrer les données à l’aide des systèmes de gestion de la distribution
Superviser les chauffeurs qui chargent et déchargent les hydrocarbures et les additifs
Superviser les entrepreneurs et les services d’entretien par l’intermédiaire du système de permis de travail, en communiquant efficacement et en faisant preuve de leadership en matière de sécurité
Superviser le branchement/débranchement des tuyaux maritimes et les activités d’amarrage/désamarrage
Effectuer le chargement/déchargement des wagons, y compris la connexion/déconnexion, l’ouverture/fermeture de wagons
Monter et descendre dans de grands réservoirs de stockage en vrac pour effectuer l’échantillonnage, la vérification des niveaux, la détection de gaz et l’inspection générale des réservoirs
Démontrer la capacité et l’intérêt d’utiliser des systèmes informatiques (ordinateur de bureau, tablette, téléphone intelligent) pour la saisie de diverses données et informations (par exemple, registres des quarts de travail, tours de garde, bons de travail), y compris le dépannage de base des systèmes en cours d’utilisation
Comprendre et surveiller les paramètres de qualité du produit par rapport aux critères et communiquer avec les ressources internes et externes pour assurer le bon fonctionnement des activités et maximiser la fiabilité du terminal

Disposition à travailler selon des heures flexibles, y compris à effectuer des quarts rotatifs et à suivre un horaire de 12 heures, ainsi qu’à faire des heures supplémentaires
Capacité à grimper dans des échelles et à monter des escaliers, à travailler en hauteur et dans des espaces confinés
Capacité à soulever un poids de 20 kg du sol au niveau de la taille et à le transporter
