Job Description:

What’s the role?

You will manage the Elektro-, Mess-, Steuerungs- und Regelungstechnik (EMSR) team of 13 people and provide technical expertise, influencing resource use in the plant.

Responsibilities:

  • You lead a diverse EMSR team and coordinate effectively with other departments.
  • You maintain production assets efficiently, steering contractors and personnel to achieve service goals.
  • You provide maintenance services to production and logistics for safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
  • You initiate, steer, and supervise continuous improvements, considering operational profiles, environmental, and commercial aspects.
  • You ensure knowledge transfer, team development, and maintain connections with other Shell plants and communities.
  • You ensure compliance and reliable operation of electrical installations, acting as Verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft (VEFK) as per German legislation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • You lead the EMSR team, including 2-shift EMSR staff, 3-shift electricians (led by 2 foremen), and planning functions.
  • You act as VEFK as per VDE 1000-10:2021-06.
  • You manage team development and ensure compliance with norms and standards.
  • You serve as the EMSR focal point, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • You analyze maintenance statistics and KPIs, addressing HSSE, Quality, Maintenance Schedule Adherence, and cost control.
  • You support asset management and represent EMSR in internal and external audits.

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant apprenticeship education in electrics and/or measuring and control engineering with further qualification and development and shown track record of constant development is a plus.
  • Track record of successful leadership of individuals, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Proven professional experience in the field of EMSR work is a plus
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and digital tools, SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and quick, pragmatic and effective decision making
  • Good oral and written German and English skills (German must have)
  • Authentic team player
