Job Description:

Where you fit in

Reports to the Subsea, Pipelines, Civils and Offshore structures lead.  Focal point for subsea (as part of the Subsea and Pipeline Asset Clast (PSAC)), responsible for reliability, availability and integrity of Subsea Control system during the operate phase achieving 96% availability.

  • Problem solving high graded issues arising from the platform staff.
  • Defining scope for subsea interventions.

What’s the role?

Scope covers Subsea Control technical expertise to the UK Operated organisation, to meet the Group HSSE Control Framework and all regulatory requirements or reviews through inhouse resources or externally contracted studies.

HSSE

  • Visibly demonstrate Safety Leadership and set clear expectations through the organization and through interactions with contracting partners.
  • Ensure HSSE embedded in technical solutions.
  • Complete all mandatory HSSE training.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with all internal stakeholders that manage resources, equipment and activities for the facility through an efficient IAPS (Integrated Activity Plan) process.
  • Actively work with facility teams to deliver their role to support the UK pipeline and subsea business.
  • Actively engage with vendors to proactively manage the Subsea production system.
  • Actively participate in Natural Teams across organisation boundaries

Technical Assurance

  • Ensure Subsea Control System is maintained in accordance with maintenance strategies.
  • Manage Subsea Control System Surveillance activities through various tools, identifying early indications of failure and intervening proactively.
  • Conduct system fault finding (Electrical and Hydraulic) activities and develop detailed scope of work for any necessary repairs or modifications.
  • Responsible to manage Life extension and obsolescence requirements for subsea equipment.
  • Responsible to manage sparing strategies to reduce response time to emerging threats.
  • Responsible to manage and facilitate subsea inspection Component Orientated Anomaly Based Inspection System (COABIS) anomaly review, action and close out.
  • Responsible for managing change on the system, by conducting risk assessments, identify and implementing mitigations.
  • Responsible to provide subsea input to the annual pipeline and subsea asset class integrity assessment and reporting.
  • Ensure as-building of all modifications - including drawings, documents, COABIS etc.
  • Support investigations of all failures and effect remedial actions to ensure learnings are implemented.

Contract Management

  • Provides Technical input to relevant Contract Strategies and contract review sessions.

What we need from you

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 7 years extensive Subsea controls surveillance and operations experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science subject or relevant experience.

  • Innovation / Learning mindset - doing things differently (simplified, efficient worked practices) and/or new technology application.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management skills both internally and externally – ability to learn from and influence.
  • Integration - willing to lead, integrate across functions and problem solve.
