Purpose:
The Structural Engineer is responsible to ensure the integrity assurance of structures within SMEP operating assets and to ensure that the appropriate standards and controls are in place to control the integrity and safety of offshore structures (Fixed & Floating Offshore Structures)
Where You Fit In:
The Structural Engineer does not have direct reports but will help to guide the young engineers & graduates in the team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide Structural discipline engineering support and advice to Maintenance Execution Team, Work preparation, Operations, Portfolio of Projects Team, Turnaround Team and Marine Services Team.
- Manage and protect the SCE barriers including Performance Standards, Health checks, Status reporting & support the Perform Maintenance Execution & Turnaround (PMETA) Team.
- Deliver discipline requirements to the Asset Maintenance Reference plans.
- Plan, schedule, and execute the activities under the Structural discipline.
- Update and implement (through SAP) Inspection and Maintenance Practices to optimize the Maintenance program carried out by the Underwater Services or Topside Major Maintenance teams.
- Perform assessment of structural inspection findings for the Fixed & Floating Platforms (topside, substructure, hull, mooring chain etc) and provide recommendations for integrity assurance taking operational and other business constraints into consideration.
- Raise Z1 notifications to reported anomalies from inspections and support the Maintenance Execution Team in carry out the corrective maintenance on the reported anomalies.
- Provide risk based assessment of the SMEP offshore structures.
- Ensure key business processes and guidance’s are adhered to.
- Deliver Operational Excellence on aging assets.
- Engage with the Classification Society (ABS, Lloyd's Register etc) to address any key findings & ensure timely closeout of the action items.
- Identify cadence opportunities which includes cost, efficiency & safety improvements for the asset.
- Represent CSO team to address internal & regulatory audits conducted. (ie: HBA, DDA, IOAIA)
Internal Interfaces:
Regular interface with peers in related teams, disciplines and processes. Occasional interface with GM-2 and above on request.
External Interfaces:
Support engagement with external stakeholders relevant to the delivery of the natural goals. Stakeholders include but not limited to Global SMEs, JV Partners, Regulators, and customers as required.
Key Requirement
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Offshore Structure discipline.
- A minimum of 5-year in offshore industry and demonstrated ability to perform technical evaluation, cost estimations, design, fabrication, offshore installation & maintenance of the offshore facilities. (Fixed & Floating Offshore Structures)
- Strong analytical skill to interpret and utilize Computer Aided Design output from design suites like SACS, USFOS, SESAM, ANSYS & ABAQUS.
- This position requires proven experience in the discipline or related area.
- Strong self-leadership with the ability to function independently as well as collaborate strongly with multiple disciplines to deliver team goals.
- Analytical skill to interpret and utilize Computer Aided Design output from design suites like SACS, USFOS etc.
- High commitment to the HSE & HEMP processes and understand of the importance they have on the long-term success of the asset.
- Registered with Board of Engineer, Malaysia as a practicing engineer.
- Demonstrate good understanding of Offshore Structure design, fabrication, construction, offshore installation & maintenance.
- Strong understanding of Safety Critical Element and Performance Standards.
- Able to go offshore when required during key activities.
