Job Description
Reporting to the Global Commodity Manager, this role is responsible for supporting strategically managed segments of TPI’s key commodities on a global basis to leverage TPI’s buying power through global consolidation of spend, market intelligence, strategic supplier relationships, and the execution of global supply agreements. This is accomplished through a team of Category Managers and Specialists located globally. This role is analytical in nature and requires the ability to work cross functionally in a global, fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a bias for action and looking to grow in the supply chain or procurement field.
Position Summary
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Market Research & Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing market data to support decision-making processes. Monitor and report on supply market trends, commodity pricing, supplier capacity, and industry developments.
- Supporting Strategy Development: Assist in the development of global category strategies to achieve key objectives such as cost savings, supply security, and on-time delivery.
- RFx Process: Support and execute the RFx processes, including preparation, communication, and evaluation of information requests, proposals, and quotations.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Communication: Proactively communicate sourcing activities to internal stakeholders and support supplier relationship management activities to ensure alignment with TPI’s objectives.
- Data Reporting: Track, update and report on category and commercial updates, supplier performance, compliance, risk assessments, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to support the development and qualification of new materials and suppliers.
- Continuous Learning: Develop your skills through hands-on experience and contribute to innovative solutions for supply chain challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, Economics or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or a related field. Internship or project experience in supply chain or sourcing is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, etc.).
- Basic understanding of supply chain principles, sourcing, or procurement.
- Familiarity with procurement processes (e.g., RFx, supplier management).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to change.
- Interest in learning about commodity management and supply chain strategy.
- Proactive, self-starter, and eager to take on new challenges.
