Job Description:

What’s the role?

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational activities, troubleshooting, minor maintenance tasks, and acting as the Area Owner for all wells and gathering systems in an assigned geographical area. The Senior Wellsite Operator also works closely with Production Engineers (PE’s) to optimise well performance and investigate issues.

  • Ensure safe operation of assigned well & gathering assets, maximising Production and Well Availability.

  • Ensures a strong focus on Operational Excellence, Maintenance Excellence and Production Optimisation initiatives within their geographic area of responsibility.

  • Troubleshoot well site, hydraulic power units, gathering and communication systems.

  • Identify current and potential well site issues through data.

  • Analysis of trends in available production monitoring tools and systems.

  • Undertake safe start-up, shutdown, and isolation of well sites.

  • Complete well site surveillance and optimisation tasks and undertake downhole failure investigations as directed by Production Engineer team.

  • Fulfil legal compliance requirements with emissions inspections and environmental compliance.

  • Maintain assurance of Asset Integrity of the Wells & Gathering Infrastructure.

  • Ensure MOC Compliance and Front-Line Barrier Health.

  • Monitor workplace to mitigate hazards and take appropriate action to rectify any hazards found.

  • Maintain a reporting culture that identifies and reports on non-compliance, promote Goal Zero behaviours.

  • Undertake minor authorised maintenance tasks and raise properly defined Corrective Maintenance work requests as required (may include completing associated work planning and materials management tasks).

  • Ensure a strong focus on Operational Excellence and Production Optimisation initiatives within their geographic area of responsibility.

What we need from you

We hope to see as many of the following in your CV:

  • Cert III – Process Plant Operation

  • Significant CSG Wellsite Operations experience

  • Experienced at troubleshooting hydraulic power units, gathering and communication systems

  • Operation of Process Plant Equipment, Gas Fired Engines, Hydraulic Motors, and Pumps

  • Intermediate level aptitude in Instrumentation and Measuring Principles, Mechanical Diagnostic Principles, data analysis and computing skills (including use of Microsoft Office, Maximo CMMS, PI Production Data & Trending, ePTW, Document Management systems, etc.)

  • Experience in Safe Systems of Work roles of Permit Holder, Area Owner & Permit Verifier

  • Ability to optimise well production using available systems, data, and effective analytical skills

  • Competent in Risk Management and Risk Identification. Possess knowledge, skills, and experience to act appropriately in emergency and high stress situations

  • Capable of working alone with minimal Supervision or assistance available. Results orientated with a high level of initiative. Self-Starter with high level work ethic

  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment. Commitment to Safe Driving Behaviours

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to Production Operations

  • Ability to work in a team environment, supporting a diverse work force. Willingness to learn and be open to change, promote continuous development within team

  • Must have experience & ability of operating at higher-level Lead Operator capacity when required
