Job Description:

Purpose

  • Review, validate, and process requests relating to Trading & Supply data objects accurately (first-time-right) and in a timely manner.
  • Fully comply with controls, defined policies, operating procedures including archiving requirements, and work instructions.
  • Be responsible for addressing all queries related to requests and to coordinate with various focal points and stakeholders for resolution, as necessary. 
  • Regularly engage with the business partners and stakeholders to discuss issues and blockers (escalate as needed on a timely basis)
  • Demonstrate process knowledge and excellence and act as technical lead when required.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in the process.  Play an active role as a member in improvement projects and lead improvement projects, as needed.
  • Provide inputs on a timely basis for the purpose of updating documentation on controls, work instructions, procedures, etc.  Ensure compliance to record archival process.
  • Support data cleansing activities, as needed, to support business projects and initiatives.
  • Prepares and do analysis on monthly key performance metrics of the team. Facilitate regular engagement with stakeholders to discuss KPI improvements.

Industry / Functional Expertise:

  • We are looking for individuals who are proficient on the following skills:
    • Stakeholder Management – this role will involve interacting with numerous demanding stakeholders. Thus, it will be very imperative if you can effectively manage their demands as well as push back as necessary for timelines that are not feasible.
    • Continuous Improvement – while managing the daily operations will be the backbone of the role, it will be key for you to identify process inefficiencies and the root causes of these. Continuously improving the process in line with the automation goals of the organization will make the work simpler and leaner.
    • Data Management/Analysis – data is the backbone of this organization. While the role is centered around Master Data Maintenance, it will be important for you to make use of the existing data available and leverage on it to identify issues and improve the process.

Modeling and Technology Skills

  • The role is on heavy use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • It is advantageous (but not necessary) for you to be experienced in SAP
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Macros and Power BI is a plus

Special Challenges

  • Strong stakeholder demands and how these can be balanced against all other operational requirements
  • Numerous projects on top of the daily operational deliverables
  • Communicating technical jargon in plain English to colleagues within and outside T&S Data
  • Virtually working with a wide network of colleagues located throughout the globe

Dimensions

  • Support delivery of master data operations and projects across the Trading and Supply business units in Shell

What do we need from you?

  • Must have 2+ years of experience in a Master Data Maintenance, Finance, or Industrial Engineering related role
  • Must have university degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, or related course
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficiency with SAP is a plus
  • Proficiency with Macros and Power BI is a plus
  • Should have good interpersonal communication skills
  • Should be a good team player and open to feedback
  • Has eagerness to learn and ability to work under tight deadlines
