Purpose & Accountabilities:

Purpose:
This position reports to the Argentina Characterize Lead and is responsible for providing petrophysical skills to the asset Exploration and Development activities. The position is expected to closely work with other members of the Technical Team, Production Technologist, Wells, Completions and Operations.

Accountabilities:
TA2 & Lead well data gathering and core analysis planning and execution.
Lead Exploration & de-risking activities.

TA2 & lead basic to advance logging tools, planning, onsite execution, evaluation and interpretation to help understand the subsurface uncertainties.

Contributes to training and mentoring of junior staff.

Dimensions

The Characterize Petrophysicist is part of the Characterize team responsible for generating the inventory of potential future drilling opportunities and associated development plans. The Petrophysicist is responsible for supporting the subsurface understanding of the play based on log and core data execution, evaluation, and interpretation. In addition, this individual will be expected to work effectively with other teams in the asset and the broader Unconventionals organization.

Skills & Requirements:

• Fully competent Petrophysicist +12y in the oil business.

• Expertise in Unconventional Reservoir evaluation +5y
• Expertise estimating PPFG and WBS – unconventional will be a plus.
• Expertise in basic to advance logging tools, planning and onsite execution is a must.
• Expertise petrophysical modeling is a must.
• Expertise with routine & Special core analysis.
• Familiar with Geomechanics will be a plus.
• Fiber Optics / DAS/ DTS interpretation skills will be a plus.
• Ability to self-assure.
• Demonstrated aptitude to adopting new ways of working and continuous improvement,
• Demonstrated commercial skills to work with external vendors.
• Demonstrated capabilities to influence without authority.
• A willingness to build Digitalization skills within the Petrophysics skillset.
• Proficient in both Spanish and English.
