What’s the role?

Optimization experts use mathematical methods to turn complex business challenges into opportunities by transforming data and models into insights for making better decisions and improving results.

You will work as part of a digital product development team supporting Shell’s LNG Optimisation Traders. You will be expected to develop and deliver the mathematical optimisation models in collaboration with other optimisation scientists and analysts.

This role requires the ability to understand and code complex mathematical optimisation models to support trading decisions. You will work with a range of model types, mostly from the field of operational research, incl mixed integer linear programming.

A mathematical background is essential with experience in relevant optimisation techniques, as well as strong foundations in suitable programming languages and optimisation platforms, as well as familiarity with various solvers for optimisation models, such as Gurobi and CPLEX. Experience with modern cloud architectures and software engineering practices for deploying data driven solutions will also be an advantage.
