Job Description:
Opportunity to join Sarawak Shell offshore operation and the first deepwater sour gas development in Sarawak, the Rosmari and Marjoram Onshore Gas Plant (OGP) as Operations and Maintenance Technician to deliver safe production of hydrocarbon within operating envelope, business targets, and regulatory compliances.
The incumbent will be trained up to 16 months at reputable training provider, equipment vendors training, Offshore/Onshore on-the-job attachment, Operator Training Simulator training, fabrication yard, and other capability uplifting programme. Upon completion and based on performance, the incumbent has opportunity to join as permanent staff in Bintulu to support the Commissioning, Start Up, and Operations of OGP, or in Miri to support various offshore locations or onshore offices
At Company’s discretion on suitability, incumbent will be assigned as
- Field Technician – Control Room
- Operator(CRO)/Operations/Maintenance/Process ; Process Automation Control
- Optimization (PACO) & Quality Measurement Instruments (QMI) Technician;
- Electrical Technician; or Mechanical Technician
At incumbent discretion, the incumbent may work at:
- OGP - 12 hours shift cycle typically 4 consecutive day or night shifts, followed by 4 consecutive days off rotation cycle, or
- Office - Normal office hour of 5 working days per week
- Offshore - 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
Technical
- Work and interact with Team Leads, OR&A Engineers and Vendors to assist in commissioning and operations for the systems including sub systems and interfaces to gain technical and operational knowledge of the plant and equipment
- During Operate phase, given area of the plant responsible to help drive availability, reliability, and productivity within their area of accountability. Ensures application of Ensure Safe Production (ESP) within the Production team as part of their day to day activities.
- As Field Technician – CRO/Operations/Maintenance/Process, includes performing equipment isolation/reinstatement as required working alongside other Operations and Maintenance Technicians. Conduct regular reviews of process and equipment readings, looking for anomalies – checking valve position and outputs, temperature, level and pressure trends, reporting and addressing any anomalies as necessary (i.e. carrying out first line diagnostics and maintenance).
- As PACO & QMI Technician, includes preventive or corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and integrity of field instruments, quality measurement instrument, metering systems, flame/vibration/fire and gas/Instrumented Protection System/Control Valves/Actuators/ Smart Instrument Digitalisation are intact and working per design intent.
- As Electrical Technician, includes supporting operations and maintenance of electrical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, UPS, MCC, HVAC, Heaters. Executes routine maintenance such as Battery Discharge test, Protection relay testing/ calibration, Electrical EX & IP integrity check and etc.
- As Mechanical Technician, includes supporting on preventive and corrective maintenance for rotating equipment (pump, compressor, IC Engine, Turbine, etc), valves (Relief Valves, Pressure Safety Valves, isolation valves, etc), static equipment (piping, pig receiver, vessel, furnace, flare), tanks, and others.
- As and when there are business requirements, staff can be assigned more safety critical roles and technical tasks

Skills and Requirements
Minimum
- Technical/Engineering Diploma or Degree of CGPA > 2.5 or min 8 years’ relevant technical experiences
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia communication/writing skills, with ability to interface well with various stakeholders
- Good analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experiences in Sour Gas Plant or Integrated Refinery/Petrochemical plant
- BTEC Certification or equivalent qualification
- Sarawakian / Sarawak PR
