This is an opportunity to join a flagship project at an exciting time, the first in Shell UK since 2001. The successful candidate will develop skills in Project execution, System commissioning, Operations & Maintenance and Field Start-up.

The Operations & Maintenance role influences across a wide range of work execution on site, therefore the successful candidate must be a great communicator, with the capacity to quickly transition between topics and time frames. The role will require highly effective teamwork to ensure optimization of the project, plant, and effective maintenance execution.
What’s the role?
The Operations & Maintenance team consists of multiskilled technicians where all technicians will carry out cross discipline activities within their competence and capability. There will be a big focus on a “one team” culture and all technicians will be encouraged to contribute to all aspects across the disciplines of operations, maintenance, and the marine departments. As part of your role you will commission, operate, prepare, and execute maintenance to sustain the Asset’s Technical Integrity, reliability, and availability in accordance with Shell best practice and HSSE standards.
As the front-line focal point, you’ll learn and understand the concept of Work Process Management and the application the Asset Management System (AMS) and how these interfaces and supports business delivery via other key processes as part of your day-to-day activities.
What we need from you
We are looking for people to demonstrate excellent safety leadership and behaviours, embracing the installation charters and inspiring the team to drive sustainable business and HSSE performance.
- Trade qualification or HNC in a maintenance / operations discipline (Mechanical, production operations, Instruments, electrical and marine)
- Candidates with dual trades would be advantageous (i.e., operations & instruments, electrical & operations etc), however not essential
- Successful candidates will hold or be willing to work towards Control Room Operator (CRO), Responsible Person Electrical (RPE), Technical Custodian Instruments (TCI) competencies
- Experience of an electronic PTW/Maintenance management system is advantageous however not essential for example ISSOW, P-Vison, SAP or Maximo
- Operate, optimize, and safely manage equipment in line with the operating procedures to support overall facility delivery on production targets and ensure losses are minimized
- Able to identify Safety Critical Elements within the maintenance system ensuring that they are maintained as per the performance standards
- Embed & sustain a seafaring mentality across the Asset "Everyone cares for people & equipment" identify and drive improvement opportunities
- Apply all AMS processes relevant to role, and act as designated shift focal point for specific AMS Processes
- Understand the principles of management change and apply the MoC process for appropriate change interventions taking into consideration risk, mitigation and HSSE issues
- Carry out planned, preventative, remedial and breakdown maintenance as directed by line supervisor
- Fully understand Platform operating procedures manuals (POPM) and how to apply them to execute work safely
- Be a part of a high performing team delivering Asset Integrity, SECE work scopes as per plan
- Actively promote and embed multi-skilling, enabling cradle to grave execution "one team"
- Champion the Learner Mindset through the use reflective learning tools and applications
- Train and develop others as detailed in Personnel Development Plan
- Strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive and enthusiastic approach
Technical Assurance:
- Responsibilities within the asset Project to Asset Handover, Turnaround readiness, execution, and statement of fitness processes
- Review Operating procedures, record changes and follow due process to facilitate updates.
- Strong understanding of the work instruction to ensure compliance when executing day to day activities
- Area Ownership, high level of personal responsibility to help drive safety initiatives, availability, reliability, and productivity within their area of accountability in a challenging offshore environment
- Provide work order history within Maintenance Management System, providing assurance before completion of work order
Emergency Response
- Operations & Maintenance Technicians will carry out Emergency response duties under the instruction of the Incident Team Leader as part of the Emergency Response Team
- Role-playing during emergency response training scenarios
