About the role

The MCI engineer is responsible for the pressure equipment integrity for both Sabah & Sarawak Assets. The role is responsible to deliver performance of corrosion management control for offshore topside facilities inclusive the review of corrosion inhibition performance, Integrity Operating Window (IOW) compliance and perform pressurize equipment integrity assessment analysis, repair, and replacement requirements. The role also includes identification of potential materials degradation issues from potential changes in operating condition or equipment, working proactively with operations, maintenance, relevant engineering disciplines and inspection personnel to assure equipment integrity are properly addressed.

Where you fit in

The MCI Engineer will be part of Asset Discipline Engineering team delivering asset management process of Manage Asset Care (MAC) requirements for pressurize equipment. You are based onshore in Miri and will be required to mobilize offshore during the execution period such as Major Preventive Maintenance/Corrective Maintenance, etc.

Key Accountabilities

• Design activities concentrate on standard topics (directed by standards and procedures).
• Works with moderate supervision, which requires a comprehensive combination of applied and theoretical knowledge. Job requires a solid understanding of standard principles. Applies standard techniques or procedures to assigned tasks.
• Integrates related discipline activities to achieve delivery through a defined process.
• Performs specified tasks within design, operation, or maintenance of facilities/plant. Typically, no budget responsibility.
• Engages with one or more (groups of) internal and external stakeholders on operational level. Scale and severity of consequences if things go wrong is limited, involving some stakeholder management.

Additionally, you will

  • Maintain up to date information of pressure equipment system in Integrity Management System (IMS) record for assets under the care through timely review of equipment conditions inspection findings, perform integrity & risk-based inspection assessment and propose recommendations/repair solutions.
  • Perform periodic reviews and assessments of integrity chemical treatment program (i.e. corrosion inhibition) and corrosion control performance and propose solutions for Technical Authority (MCI TA3/2) review.
  • Develop or update corrosion management framework for existing assets.
  • Provide ad-hoc support in the event of issues that requires immediate attention or short-term threat to maintain integrity and reliability.
  • Participation in Turn Around (T/A) planning and execution for inspection and corrective maintenance that may include T/A preparation activities, scope development, execution, close out.
  • Support Manage Threats Opportunity (MTO) process either as threat owner or discipline support.
  • Support Perform Maintenance Execution (PME) and Ensure Safe Production (ESP) process for MCI discipline.

What we need from you?

  • Technical/Engineering Degree in a Materials Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering or a discipline related to Pressure Equipment Integrity and Materials and Corrosion
  • > 5 years experiences in Materials, Corrosion and Inspection role related at offshore/onshore facilities in Hydrocarbon production.
  • Strong personal leadership and self-management with the ability to collaborate well with a diverse population. Motivated individual with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge in metallic materials, degradation mechanism, corrosion assessment and control
  • Knowledge in asset integrity and repair assessments
  • Knowledge in Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
  • High level of personal integrity and courage to stand up for personal convictions and deliver enterprise first outcomes.
  • Good communications skills
