Job Description:

About the role

As Legal Counsel, you will be accountable for the following:


•    Draft, review and advise on legal risks for (Operational) contracts associated with Mobility and marketing businesses, Lubricants, Commercial Fuels, Aviation and Construction & Road such as CICAF template agreements, mobility agreements, sale agreements and other distributorship agreements in Asia.
•    RBA/RSA & NFR for both Regulated and Non-Regulated Markets (Drafting, review and advisory)
•    Leases and Tenancies (Drafting, review and advisory).
•    Drafting contracts templates.
•    Retail Marketing (Marketing & Advertising: Review and drafting of Marketing and Advertising materials including related advice on regulatory, data privacy and IP issues in both Mandarin and English languages).
•    Downstream Accelerated Growth projects and initiatives focused in the East.
•    Legal support in IP related matters.
•    E&C legal support work (per latest Guidance, related to certain AB&C/AML matters).
•    Drafting amendment agreements, NDAs, novation, termination notices and other basic ancillary contracts.
•    Assisting in creation and updating of training materials, self-help materials for business, legal guidance notes or FAQs.
•    Participation in Special Project/initiatives.
•    Carry out such other tasks to support colleagues within the Central Legal Services Team and Asia Downstream Legal teams, as required.

What we need from you
•    Law degree and professional legal qualification with minimum of 4 to 7 years in legal and commercial.
•    Excellent legal and strategic judgment, coupled with strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
•    Ability to build a shared vision around the process and ensure a smooth execution of the vision across various organizational interfaces.
•    Promotes a continuous improvement mindset and challenges self and others to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
•    Excellent business acumen, risk assessment ability and ability to balance competing interests of businesses at varied stages of their evolution.
•    Proficient problem-solving, decision-making and drafting skills.
•    Contracting experience with the ability to understand strategies and risk mitigation.
•    Team player with the ability to work independently under pressure with minimum supervision; adapt quickly with a clear strength in identifying priority assignments, managing time and expectations.
•    Flexibility to work as part of virtual team.  
•    Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
