What’s the role
As a HSE Reporting Systems Specialist in the Reporting Safety Systems Team at Technical Asset Services - Chennai, you will act as the business owner for the Global HSSE Incident Management System (Sphera Cloud and DAP). Your role involves supporting Shell’s businesses in using these tools for HSSE processes, including incident reporting, assessments, and Behaviour-Based Safety Management (BBSM). You will collaborate with Safety Reporting Teams and HSSE focal points to ensure high data quality and streamline reporting systems. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to enhance the functionality of Sphera Cloud and DAP, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs. This global role integrates efforts between HSSE reporting teams, product teams, and IT to maintain effective reporting and address system issues promptly.
What you’ll be doing
Assist the Senior Systems Focal in documenting system requirements, testing changes, and developing Product Requirement Documents (PRD).
Provide guidance and support on changes deployed in Sphera Cloud and DAP.
Serve as the SME for functional queries related to various Sphera Cloud workflows.
Ensure Sphera Cloud and DAP support HSSE performance reporting requirements.
Ensure that data from Sphera Cloud is seamlessly transferred to all reporting platforms without loss.
Ensure global reporting teams can generate standard and customized reports as needed.
Collaborate with HSSE reporting focal points to maintain standard HSSE performance reports and analytics.
Act as the business focal in developing Sphera roadmap and prioritization list for each calendar year.
Back-up for Senior focal for conducting the SPFP meeting s across globe.
Conduct site-specific sessions (STCB, Pernis, Scotford, Deer Park, etc.) to address site challenges and incorporate improvement suggestions.
Act as Business System Focal for Sphera Product and IT connections.
Perform stakeholder mapping and handshakes before handing over asset safety reporting responsibilities to new recruits.
Analyze the impact of system changes and ensure thorough testing before implementation.
Drive NDT forum connects and be the lead to deploy the changes in Sphera and DAP.
Develop change logic, review with business teams, and coordinate with the Sphera Product team for IT feasibility and development.
Engage with business, product, and IT teams to ensure timely testing and implementation of system changes.
Support businesses in adopting changes across the global organization.
Identify opportunities to enhance the delivery of the incident management vision.
Explore emerging technologies such as AI to improve reporting efficiency and analytics.
Advocate for and implement automated solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to streamline incident management processes and predictive analytics.
Identify and implement features and enhancements within Sphera Cloud and DAP that support business specific processes.
Identify ways to automate asset safety reporting, reducing manual effort and improving data accuracy.
Translate HSSE terminology into IT requirements and vice versa.
Assist IT teams in understanding the business impact of system issues and provide temporary workarounds when needed.
Capability for system solutions and architecture for future optimisation of reporting systems.
Provide mentorship to team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
What you bring
Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering or related full-time university degree.
At least 4 years of work experience in HSSE / Manufacturing /Production Operations.
Knowledge of HSSE incident management process, and incident classification, investigation and reporting.
Fair knowledge of Change Management methodology and Agile.
Awareness of HSSE & SP Control framework manuals and HSE incident investigation and learning technique.
Knowledge in Product management / Program management.
Business analysis techniques.
Solid Understanding and know-how of business intelligence solutions (e.g. Business Objects, Spotfire, PowerBI)
Proven Data management and Data analysis experience.
Experience of systems testing and implementing small process changes
Experience of working in a virtual team.
Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft applications, particularly excel.
HSSE qualification is an advantage, not mandatory.
Self-organized with a structured and disciplined approach to work activities
Delivery focused and tenacious
Service oriented mindset.
Able to communicate clearly, both written and oral.
Knowledge of change management practices.
Ability to work in a global matrix organizational environment, influencing people and delivering results, usually without having formal authority or line responsibility.
