Job Description:

Where you fit in

You will provide technical training to all staff, and coordinate with other Engineering disciplines on all training-related matters.

You will also provide technical support/on-the-job training on ex motor & other electrical equipment repair.

What’s the role? 

  • Develop and conduct theoretical and practical (OJT)/task, skill, and competency-based ec , maintenance training programs for maintenance personnel. Furthermore, s/he will be on board. for the development of the CD&A syllabus for the instrumentation department.
  • Plan and schedule in-house training for all Electrical technicians, and operation technicians (AP) and maintain training records.
  • Plan and organize the external training courses for all electrical maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate with HR and engineering departments on the development and training for all department staff on electrical technologies.
  •  Update and review departmental procedures / electrical work instructions on a scheduled basis.
  • Engage with technicians/staff/contractors leading toolbox meetings, safety, and any other related subjects.
  • Conduct the refresher/awareness training courses on all electrical procedures and work instructions.
  • To conduct Electrical Training Programs for operation personnel, new batch of technicians, and others requiring basic presentation on electrical.
  • Evaluate, assess, and update the Job Competency Profile for Electrical Technicians and align it with Global standards and capture these as the primary requirements for the CD&A.
  • Motivate and inspire trainees and others to reach their potential and achieve optimum performance.
  •  Understand and apply various learning strategies effectively including classrooms and practical training sessions to meet the business needs.
  • Assists in the development of a training strategy and plan to ensure that all technicians and trainees achieve competence within a defined time frame.
  • Generate sources or otherwise provide training and assessment materials to support training programs and courses.
  • Applies company HSE rules and regulations, policies, and procedures to all facets of training activities.
  • Undertakes further duties as required to facilitate and enhance training and operational activities.
  •  Providing technical support and advice to other engineering disciplines, operations, and technologists on the issue diagnosis, investigation of plant problems, and promotion of the electrical best practices.
  • Led Electrical Team during Plant Turnaround 18. Support Electrical Team on standby duty roster as Senior Electrical duty personnel. 19. Any tasks assigned by SPE Manager.

What do we need from you?

  • Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or minimum 10 years of working experience in electrical engineering maintenance in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Certified Chargeman for competency level up to 33kV with Class I switching authorization.
  •  Authorized by Ministry of Public Utility Sarawak or Pesuruhanjaya Tenaga as Chargeman
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff of diverse backgrounds and build team efficiency.
  • Ability to interpret Key Line Diagrams and control circuits.
