What it's like at GRID…

At GRID, we care about each other and know that each employee has a whole self that includes life outside of work. Our culture supports learning, growth and well-being of all of our team members. Why this is a big deal...

GRID Alternatives is seeking an EVSE (Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment) Project Manager to support implementation of the organization’s rapidly growing Clean Mobility program.

Low-income communities across the US spend $75 billion annually on gasoline and have been disproportionately impacted by pollution from gasoline production and consumption. Today’s technology now allows frontline communities to disrupt this system and replace gasoline with sunshine, generated by locally built, locally owned solar power. GRID Alternatives’ Clean Mobility program brings together solar, charging infrastructure, and electric vehicles to enable this transition for communities that could benefit the most, while also providing local job seekers with workforce development opportunities in the new clean mobility economy. GRID has a variety of active clean mobility equity projects now underway throughout California and is looking to expand this work to other states and tribal lands as well.

The Opportunity…The EVSE Project Manager will be a part of the headquarters construction team and will largely work on GRID's California statewide EV charging program for income-qualified households, managing a portfolio of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) installations.

The EVSE Project Manager will manage all aspects of the project cycle for EVSE projects from client intake to close-out. This may include:

  • Oversight of project budget and timelines
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships including contract execution and scheduling
  • Assess residential electrical infrastructure and perform service load calculations for EV charging feasibility
  • Planset drafting and permitting
  • Support procurement
  • Quality assurance
  • Status reporting and invoicing
  • Manage subcontractor application, vetting, and training processesWhat you need to bring to this role…?

  • Experience in building relationships across lines of difference
  • Experience in project management or construction operations
  • Familiarity with EVSE and/or the National and California Electric Code
  • Experience using Salesforce.com CRM database systems
  • Experience using design software such as Sketchup or AutoCAD
  • Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet all of the preferred qualifications.
