Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Solar PV Commissioning Technician to join our team. This is an exciting, challenging and fast-paced position with bonus upside for highly exceptional performance.
The candidate must be self-motivated, independent, and able to handle multiple priorities.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
Responsible for all onsite commissioning activities
Responsible to ensure work is professionally and efficiently performed
Coordinate with Installers and GCS Training Manager on preparations for commissioning.
Coordinate with Installers and GCS Training Manager on preferred sequence of work (when to install Master Controllers, where to install Node Controllers first, etc.)
Arrange for delivery of commissioning materials, tools and equipment to support efficient and timely commissioning
Perform pre-commissioning site walk with customer, installer, and GCS Training Manager. Generate pre-commissioning punch list for installer
Install temporary Master Controller Solar Charger
Work closely with assigned GCS Commissioning Engineer to establish communications between head office and master controllers
Initiate pre commissioning (fuse, scan, plug CP, release eStop) immediately upon Node Installation by Installers
Perform required tests and measurements
Responsible to properly and professionally complete logs and reports daily (checklists, task lists, remediation, inventory, etc.)
Generate weekly commissioning report and submit to GCS Field Team Manager for review
Work with O&M team to provide system training as required
Removal and return of Cell Modems from Master Controller once site network access established
Participate in cross-functional project teams to support the release of new products and related projects from an installation, reliability and quality perspective.
Perform, support and/or coordinate product failure investigation, corrective and preventive action, quality improvement projects, and supplier audits as needed.
May support the complaint investigation process to ensure timely evaluation and resolution of product quality issues.
