Job Description:

The Commercial Operations & Compliance Analyst will ensure that the operations required to perform the domestic crude supply are carried out and will also serve as a focal point for recording and managing the obligations for the Concessions, JVs, Commercial, Landowner.  Is responsible for the efficient and timely transactional processing of the operations arising from crude oil sales to Argentinian and Chilean refineries. This means managing the logistics of hydrocarbons from the wellhead to the final customer. 

This position will also ensure that joint venture contract obligations and landowners’ commercial obligations are accurately reflected in the appropriate databases, updated on a timely basis, and effectively communicated within the organization and ensure that the operations for the sales of crude oil are properly managed.

Accountabilities:

Commercial Operations

  • Ensure that all obligations arising from crude oil sales and transport are carried out, and that all necessary operations requirements are complied with.  Should have knowledge of the pipeline and Marine Terminal GT&C?s and nomination procedures.
  • Coordination of the nomination information with the Operations team.
  • Dealing with counterparties regarding all pre and post deal activities i.e. credit screening, invoicing, calculation of royalties, settlement process and payment terms.
  • Communication with Finance - availability of relevant operational information as soon as possible so that invoices and payments can be issued on time.

Compliance and Record Management

  • Complete verification of all Commercial contract and landowners’ documentation to ensure accuracy and identify compliance requirements and/or obligations.
  • “Onboarding Process of New Commercial and Landowners Contracts & Regulatory Changes”: Liaise with Commercial Representatives, field & facility operations personnel, asset team personnel and Finance personnel to ensure Commercial contract terms are accurate and effectively registered and communicated. (Proactive engagement & Integration)
  • Support Development and Implementation of Compliance Initiatives and Improvement Plans
  • Update information in internal tracking systems and summaries to reflect transactions.
  • Take a leading role in process improvements, data reviews and system changes related to Commercial contract and accounting interface.

Skills & Requirements

  • Commercial and/or contractual education/experience.
  • 5 years of experience in petroleum related contracts or industry experience in Commercial/Operational roles.
  • Spanish and English advanced strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Identifies and performs the essential elements of operating crude oil sales activities, ensuring the financial aspects such as invoicing and payment are covered, and trading systems are updated.
  • Comprehensive experience with joint venture contract creation, analysis & administration and/or related industry experience.
  • Knowledge on land system, QBLM, Freedom and Pandell.
  • Understands the impact of sales & scheduling on all subsequent activities such as reporting and invoicing.
  • Understands the linkages with other parts of the organization involved in the Life of a Deal in order to facilitate other areas in carrying out their responsibilities as expeditiously as possible.
  • Required to be able to manage multiple and conflicting priorities to achieve business intent for the enterprise.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and make effort to improve the effectiveness of the team.
