What's the role
The Optimization Analyst and Modeler exists to coordinate the data management for the Regional Optimization Team and the statistical forecast for the Commercial Organization. The role is expected to proactively look into alternative data sources or other initiatives to improve the value of the statistical forecast to the planning process. The candidate will also align with EMCs from other regions to maintain consistency in data processes to ensure best-practices are shared and implemented for their respective region. Moreover, this role can be part of several improvement projects initiated by the MSC Excellence organization. As Chemicals embrace digitalization, the candidate is expected to raise the game for automation and data visualization in the ROM team accelerating the pace of optimization in this challenging market environment.
What you'll be doing
Gather and translate business requirements from asset stakeholders to the IDT project team.
Collaborate with the IDT project team to deliver dashboards on schedule.
Test dashboards to ensure they meet requirements.
Replicate margin visualization reports across assets/production units using a DIY approach.
Provide support for break-fix issues with SOM.
Act as the focal point for running and maintaining deployed dashboards across C+P assets.
Develop competencies to offer end-to-end support for data visualization activities.
While it is recognized that candidates may not have Economics and Scheduling experience, it is expected to be acquired on the job.
What you bring
Preferably with a University Degree in Chemical Engineering, or any relevant discipline.
Excellent performance track record.
Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated achievement.
Proven communication skills and good interpersonal skills with different levels in the organization and across cultures.
Work effectively across various functions through cross-functional collaboration.
Proficient in SQL
Power BI Expertise:
Develop and maintain complex DAX functions for advanced data modelling and reporting.
Troubleshoot backend issues for Power BI visualizations using SQL.
Create and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
Ability to integrate various data sources into Power BI for comprehensive reporting.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to work, showcasing a proactive approach to acquiring new knowledge and skills in this field.
