What's the role
Accountable for delivery of key finance processes. FO drives value by delivering end-to-end operational excellence, capturing the integration value of being part of Shell and matching the operational performance of the best external providers. Delivery is driven through a strong performance culture focused on business/process outcomes, at a sustainable cost level.
Job Purpose:
Perform and support the daily operations of the ERA/Hydrocarbon teams in one of the sub processes: Stock Recording & Reconciliation. Deliver assigned activities and drive for operational excellence within the team.
What you'll be doing
1. Operate complex scope in the area of Contracts & Pricing, Exchanges, Stock Recording & Reconciliation or Stock Valuation with different dimensions (ex. material & moderate number of transactions including active participation in different team/cluster engagements; focal point roles assigned; effectively operate controls support TM/Specialist in etc.)
2. Has very good knowledge of the respective own sub process. Can back up the operators in the respective area of accountability, and support during MEC, including other teams from the given region.
3. Perform daily validation/reconciliation of SOPUS inventories comparing Shell book balances vs 3rd party inventory reports and drive resolution of any discrepancies noted.
4. Perform recording of selected inventory movements (purchase and sales) and gains and losses based on required supporting documents.
5. Perform month-end inventory closing activities helping ensure that stocks under assigned locations are properly reconciled vs 3rd party month-end reports. Perform inventory accrual posting, as necessary. Also included in the closing activities is the operation of an RDS Inventory control which will require providing clear commentaries and analysis on various exceptions noted during execution of month-end inventory reconciliation
6.Ensure that relevant reconciliation and recording performance metrics are being complied with under assigned locations. For any deviations or hit items, help the team/leads formulate and execute return to green actions.
7. Give constructive input to the issue resolution in the team; take over identified actions and different type of requests from stakeholders assigned by TM/Specialist
8. Contribute in operationalizing effective KPIs analysis by identifying root causes, implementing and monitoring improvement plans; present results from own area of accountability to different par
9. Proactively raise issues to be discussed to the Team Specialist and Team Manager. Drive operational excellence and effective Control Framework
10. Team support - use VMs to raise concerns and issues provide supporting documentation/information to Specialist/TM/ STM and different stakeholders
11. Provide information and explain all the concerns on the process to support internal/external audit. Able to identify and contribute to process improvements and simplification
