Where you fit
Our overall Learning IGU Asset & SEAM organization is responsible for the capability building for the Integrated Gas (IG) & Upstream Local Assets, as well as owner of the broader Global learning portfolio for Safety, Carbon & Environment (C&E) and Asset Management. In this context we also manage the Learning interface to our Joint Ventures.
The Non-Operated Joint Ventures (NOVs) are a critical part of how Shell does business and together they account for a decent portion of Shell’s cash flow from Operations or CFFO. By 2025, the expectation is that this will multiply. The Majority of NOVs are part of IGU hence the Joint Venture learning team is part of this community.
In this role, you join the global Learning organization, headed by VP Learning and part of the larger Talent & Learning organization, and report to the Manager Learning Carbon and Environment and Joint Ventures.
What’s the role?
As Advisor Learning for Joint Ventures, you collaborate closely with all areas of the Learning organization as well as NOV learning teams and above asset teams on managing supply and demand, operational excellence, and performance consulting. Moreover, you are to work together closely with the Advisor Learning Portfolio Companies (which will reside in the Learning Lubricants & Mobility organization) to share best practices on working with external audiences.
Further accountabilities are as follows:
- Partner with JVs, learning, HRMs, business stakeholders and/or other key colleagues to understand the JV capability priorities and deliver the envisioned business impact from Learning plan and solutions.
- Manage supply and demand of seats on global and export courses in a supply constraint environment.
- Align on an ongoing basis with Manager Learning on prioritisation for value: right work, right team, right time.
- Liaise directly with external NOV learning teams to understand needs and align fit for purpose support.
- Build effective relationships with NOV learning teams and above asset organisations.
- Support the Learning JV Excellence agenda, partnering across Learning to ensure fit for purpose system, process and technology enablers are in place for NOVs.
- Act as an active champion and role model on Learning Culture
- Support Secondee Excellence on Learning related topics.
- Performance consulting for capability building in areas such as Safety, Digital transformation, Carbon Management
- Manage supply and demand of seats on global and export courses in a supply constraint environment.
- Collaborate with the Advisor Learning Portfolio Companies, where necessary, to manage demand from Portfolio Companies in alignment with NOV demand.
What we need from you
- Minimum of master’s degree in any relevant discipline with 7+ years of experience in Learning Solution Sales or Marketing.
- Bring relevant experience to the table, either as a technical professional where your network and knowledge can add value; or as a Learning/OD/Talent professional where you can apply your skills to building capability. The ability to ‘cross boundaries’ and build up business knowledge or vice versa learning knowledge credibly and with speed will be critical.
- Be results oriented and impact focused and can prioritize learning needs based on potential impact.
- Bring an outcome focus and ‘from the business back’ mindset to the role. You are comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and have a passion for integrating and collaborating across organizational boundaries. You challenge the status quo and drive for simplification.
- Bring a Learner Mindset, a curiosity to learn and grow, learn from mistakes, successes and speak up openly in a safe environment.
- Utilize (digital) technology to improve delivery and user experience to enable business performance (e.g. Power Platform).
- Ability to easily adjust and adapt to different ways of working, perspectives and cultures, and build high-trust relationships with your stakeholders.
- Have excellent active listening skills and ask questions to understand issues and needs.
- Capability to operate in and support a wide variety of internal (Shell) and external (Joint Venture, Portfolio Company, strategic 3rd party, and etc.) client groups.
