As a Maintenance Leader you will lead a team of skilled craftsmen and technicians to ensure the effective maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring high levels of production efficiency and product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment.

As a Maintenance Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules, identify necessary repairs, and prioritize work orders based on urgency and asset criticality. 
  • Leading and supervising a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, evaluating performance, and addressing issues. 
  • Tracking maintenance expenses, managing parts inventory, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints. 
  • Enforcing safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring all maintenance staff follow proper safety procedures. 
  • Regularly inspecting facilities and equipment to identify potential problems, diagnosing malfunctions, and initiating the necessary repairs. 
  • Sourcing and managing external contractors and suppliers, including repairs requiring specialized skills. 
  • Identifying strategic spares and repair parts required in the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. 
  • Creating purchase requisitions for maintenance services and parts.  
  • Generating reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and cost analysis to identify trends and inform decision-making. 
  • Coordinating response to urgent maintenance issues and repairs during operational disruptions. 
  • Ensuring adherence to local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards related to maintenance practices.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelors degree (or a high school diploma / equivalent plus an additional 4 years of experience in a Manufacting Maintenance related role in lieu of degree)
  • Strong technical knowledge of maintenance procedures, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proven experience with equipment troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using maintenance software and tools (e.g., SAP, Maximo)
