Job Description
My client, an Engineering company, is currently seeking a Junior Instrument and Controls Designer to support their oil and gas refining clients.
Position Summary
We seek a highly motivated junior designer, field technician, or draftsperson with experience in the Oil and gas and refinery industry. The ideal candidate will have a background in developing construction design packages for various O&G and refinery projects.
This entry-level position will allow the candidate to be mentored and trained by experienced Sr. designers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience as a designer, field technician, or draftsperson. Efficient in AutoCAD.
- Communication and Collaboration: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Adaptability and Initiative: Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
The following are considered prominent roles and responsibilities of the I&C Designer:
- Work with the project team in designing, developing, and implementing instrumentation and control systems for O&G and refinery projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, instrumentation, and control engineering best practices.
- Attends field verification and user requirements gathering walk-downs.
- Travel by car to local refineries and plants
- Standing/walking around operation units while wearing PPE
